Dr. Julia Partin founded Hickory Flat Animal Hospital in 1993. She graduated from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 1986.

After seven years of practicing small animal veterinary medicine, Dr. Partin grew frustrated with the limitations of Western veterinary medicine and decided to continue her education in order to offer new treatments.

In 1998, Dr. Partin earned her certification in animal acupuncture through the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society (IVAS). In 1999, she became a certified veterinary Chinese herbalist through the Chi Institute. Dr. Partin trained in veterinary chiropractic at Options for Animals and earned her certification through the International Veterinary Chiropractic Association (ICVA) in 2007.

Dr. Partin enjoys using the variety of treatments now available: traditional veterinary medicine and surgery, veterinary acupuncture, veterinary chiropractic and animal adjustments, Chinese herbs, homeopathy, magnetic therapy and therapeutic laser.

In her spare time, Dr. Partin enjoys gardening, fishing and kayaking.
